November Poe & Poets: feat. David Gaylin
About this event:
Our popular Poe & Poets live poetry reading series has returned! Join us the second Sunday of each month for a reading of selected poetry and discussion.
Author, David Gaylin, is our featured reader Sunday, November 12. David joins us for a special live reading and discussion of selected poems by Poe. He will also autograph copies of his book, “Edgar Allan Poe’s Baltimore,” and the new Poe Baltimore House Anthology, “Edgar Allan Poe, Tales & Poems Written at the N. Amity Street House in Baltimore,” for which he wrote the introduction.
David F. Gaylin serves as the senior docent and tour guide at the Edgar Allan Poe House in Baltimore. A native of Baltimore City, David spent formative years in Fells Point and has remained in the Baltimore metro area since. His exposure to Edgar Poe was inaugurated by his grandmother, an avid reader of poetry, and who operated a business just below the hospital building where Poe died. In 2015, David authored Edgar Allan Poe’s Baltimore for Arcadia Publishing. He is a member of the Maryland Historical
Society, Poe Studies Association and is currently serving as president of the Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore.
Space is limited so please arrive just before 2PM. This event is included with the price of admission to Poe House.
(Please note: The House is small with tight winding staircases and may not be suitable for all visitors. As well, since our visitors include young children, we ask that all readings be ‘family friendly’. Visitors to the Poe House & Museum must pay our normal admission fee.)
Should you have any questions, please let us know several days prior to the event.
