DavidYezziThis weekend is the final Poe and Poets session of 2015. On Sunday, December 13 from 2-3 PM, we’ll welcome poets to 203 N. Amity Street to read several of their favorite Poe poems (plus a few of their own works.)

As part of the event, we will have David Yezzi with us. His most recent book of poems is Birds of the Air, and he is currently writing a biography of the poet Anthony Hecht. His verse play, Schnauzer will be presented this winter by the Baltimore Poets Theatre at Single Carrot.

Yezzi, the former director of the Manhattan’s Unterberg Poetry Center of the 92nd Street Y, now teaches in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins and edits The Hopkins Review.

At Poe and Poets, he will read from the beginning of The House of Usher, several Poe poems, as well as his own work. Come hear and read a bit of Poe yourself. To read, pre-register here. FYI: space is extremely limited.

Thanks to all who helped make the Poe and Poets series a success. We hope to continue holding these sessions when we open for our 2016 season. Keep posted through our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
