Attention reading lovers: Poe House’s popular Poe & Poets live poetry readings have expanded to include prose authors! Introducing a new author series from Poe Baltimore in partnership with Maryland Writers’ Association: Poe House Presents. Join us the second Sunday of each month as we welcome a new author for a reading of selected Poe stories/poems and an excerpt of their written work.

Faye McCray will read Poe’s poem, “Annabel Lee,” then share stories from her collection, White Belt.

Faye McCray is an author and essayist whose poetry and essays have been featured in the HuffPost, Little Patuxent Review, For Harriet, Madame Noire, Black Girl Nerds, and other popular publications. She is the editor-in-chief and co-founder of Weemagine, a website devoted to celebrating and inspiring all children and the people who love them. Faye is also the author of White Belt, a collection of horror short stories; Boyfriend, a novel about a troubled college student struggling with love and fidelity; and I am Loveda collection of positive affirmations for children.  By day, Faye is an attorney and married mother of three boys, and a Master’s in Writing candidate at Johns Hopkins University.

Space is limited so please arrive just before 2PM. This event is included with the price of admission to Poe House. Please note: The House is small with tight winding staircases and may not be suitable for all visitors.
