Attention reading lovers: Poe House’s popular Poe & Poets live poetry readings have expanded to include prose authors! Introducing a new author series from Poe Baltimore in partnership with Maryland Writers’ Association: Poe House Presents. Join us the second Sunday of each month as we welcome a new author for a reading of selected Poe stories/poems and an excerpt of their written work.

Rissa Miller will read Poe’s classic horror story, “The Tell-Tale Heart“, as well as poems from her collections, Goodnight Poet: Poems to Share at Bedtime and the forthcoming, Devil’s Boudoir, a collection of narrative horror poetry.

Rissa Miller is a working author, playwright, poet & artist living in Maryland. She studied writing at New York University/Tisch School of the Arts and photojournalism at Western Kentucky University. More about her work at


Space is limited so please arrive just before 2PM. This event is included with the price of admission to Poe House. Please note: The House is small with tight winding staircases and may not be suitable for all visitors.
