About this event:

Created by Poe Baltimore

The Poe House Presents reading series returns in 2020 with a new slate of Maryland authors from the Maryland Writers’ Association. Join us the second Sunday of each month as we welcome a new author for a reading of selected Poe stories/poems and an excerpt of their written work.

Joan Drescher Cooper will read Poe’s poems, “A Dream Within A Dream” and “Eldorado,” as well as her own selected poems from her collection Birds Like Me.

Writer and poet, Joan Drescher Cooper finds inspiration in her family and teaching career. In October 2019, her debut poetry collection, Birds Like Me, was published by Finishing Line Press. Her poetry and flash fiction have appeared in The Delmarva Review, Doorknobs & Body Paint and the Sand Dune Anthology. Joan published two novels and a collection of short stories through Salt Water Media of Berlin:  Finding Home on Lilac Hill, Return to Lilac Hill, and Lilac Hill Folly. For stories and more, visit
