Events > 1970 > June > Painting is in the air @ 203 N. Amity this summer!

About this event:

Created by Poe Baltimore

203 N. Amity Street, Baltimore, MD

We’re welcoming Plein Air painters to visit the neighborhood facing the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum each final weekend of June (27/28), July (25/26), August (29/30), & September (26/27) to depict contemporary views that remain much as Poe would have seen in the 1830s. If you’re lucky, you might see them at work.

Pending development plans will soon erase these vistas forever, making it that much more crucial to depict these vistas. So we’re also planning exhibitions to celebrate these (historic) paintings.

We’re open Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4pm, and if you’re a painter, we’d appreciate if you’d register with us at 203 N. Amity Street so we’ll know who you are and whether you’d prefer our visitors (who travel from around the globe) might briefly chat with you (or not.)

Please email us to learn more about the museum and details about this project, and feel free to post your artwork on our Facebook page (find the link on our website menu bar.)
