The Poe House Presents reading series returns in 2021 with a new slate of Maryland authors from the Maryland Writers’ Association. Join us the second Sunday of each month as we welcome a new author for a reading of selected Poe stories/poems and an excerpt of their written work. Sign up for this and other Poe House Presents sessions at http://PoeHousePresents2021.eventbrite.com.
Janice E. C. Coleman will read Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Pit and the Pendulum” then share an excerpt from her first novel, Night Walker.
Janice E.C. Coleman is a woman of many trades. Not only is she an author, but a mother, 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, kickboxing instructor, personal trainer, and bassist. Coleman always wanted to write a book, but never came upon an idea that intrigued her. One night, while attending a ghost tour in Ellicott City, MD, with her husband and daughter, she stared up at one of the haunted windows and was inspired. And thus, Night Walker was born. The book was nominated for a Saturday ‘Visiter’ Award in 2020.
The Saturday Visiter Awards are an honor, presented by Poe Baltimore, recognizing a new generation of artists and writers inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. The awards are presented at the International Edgar Allan Poe Festival in Baltimore, Maryland. For more information visit SaturdayVisiterAwards.org
