PoePhotoEdgar Allan Poe was born on January 19, 1809, and to honor his 207th birthday, the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum (203 N. Amity) will celebrate one of our City’s most famous denizens by offering free public admission to all who visit between 11am-1pm on Saturday, January 16, or 11am-3:30pm on Sunday, January 17, 2016.

We will also have a party, exhibition and benefit. This event, our second “POE-Zella!”, is a free juried Poe-inspired party, benefit exhibition, and silent auction. It is scheduled to be held at Zella’s Pizzeria on January 16 from 2-6 pm. (Time subject to change)

While, entry to this special event is free,  donations at the door are encouraged to help sustain the mission to promote and interpret Edgar Allan Poe’s life, death, and legacy in Baltimore.

More information will be released between now and the event, so stay tuned here and on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Why us the museum closed today on his birthday?

    • Poe Baltimore says:

During the winter months, the house is closed due to the lack of heat at the site. During our open season, we are just open on weekends. We did open the house, free of charge, the weekend before his birthday in 2014-2016, and in 2016, we plan to offer expanded visiting hours.
