“Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary...” — Edgar Allan Poe

America 250: Revolution & Remembrance

As the nation marks the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, Poe Baltimore explores a surprising story of Revolution and Remembrance. Though best known for his dark literary legacy, Edgar Allan Poe was shaped by a family deeply connected to Baltimore’s Revolutionary past. Through special exhibits, lectures, tours, and living-history programs, we trace the patriotic service, personal sacrifices, and lasting legacy of the Poe family in early America.

Events in this series take place at historic sites across Baltimore City, including Carroll Mansion and the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum. Our Revolution & Remembrance Bus Tours depart from the Baltimore Visitor Center at the Inner Harbor and bring these powerful stories to life on location. Each program is unique, so please check individual event listings for dates, times, locations, and admission details.

Tickets for bus tours are sold through our secure Peek Pro booking system. Registration for other programs and exhibits is handled directly through our website.
