“Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary...” — Edgar Allan Poe

February 19 @ 11:00 am 4:00 pm

Created for the 150th anniversary of Baltimore’s Poe Monument, “Written In Stone” is a sequential series of original art by Jason Strutz tracing the long, strange journey from Poe’s burial in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery to the decades-long effort to place the grave monument at Westminster Hall. Each piece unfolds another chapter, revealing how memory, rumor, devotion, and civic pride were slowly and finally etched in stone.

On view during regular museum hours and included with Poe House admission. Hours vary seasonally, so please check the venue listing for today’s open days and times.
